BBC - Designing a more accessible web
Accessibility is making news in the mainstream media now, and the latest news outlet to report on this is the BBC:-
 | People who find it difficult to use a computer keyboard and mouse, can turn to other devices to navigate the internet, but if the site has not been designed with accessibility in mind, using the web can prove to be a frustrating experience. | |
Most people who know something about accessibility think it's just about complying with the Disability Discrimination Act. This is true to a degree, but the BBC article was one of the first to point what we at AuditMyWebsite have been saying to our customers for many years:-
 | .....if a site is accessible by a disabled user it is also a third quicker for an able-bodied person to complete tasks too. | |
(our emphasis)
Making your site accessible to the disabled will naturally mean your site is easier to navigate for everybody because of the usability practices involved. Accessibility is an issue that faces 100% of internet users, be they able-bodied or disabled.
